Design: New social media icons
Some of you might have noticed already, as the icons have been live for a couple of days. A couple weeks ago, the icons we had for Facebook, Google+, RSS feed and mailing list were removed due to a mistake in the backend. I haven’t thought much of it, but in the middle of me deciding to give the site more frequent updates, I realised we were gonna need new icons, so here they are!
There’s the three most usual ones, Facebook, Twitter and Google+ which will lead you to our communities on the three sites where you can sign up to get updates through your favourite platform.
In the next row we have Twitch, mailing list and YouTube. At the moment, Twitch and YouTube haven’t been used much, but plans to make them active is in the works – if you have any ideas or wishes, don’t hesitate to let us know in the comments below this article! The mailing list is the best way to get updates (updates are easily overlooked or might not even show in your feed on the social media platforms) – these won’t be sent frequently at all. A short email notice when a new giveaway is online and I am hoping to scoop in a monthly mail in the schedule.
The last row contains access to our .Tumblr page, and while this is an unconventional way of sharing posts on news sites, it’s in testing to see how people will use it and if it can benefit us and our readers in any way.
I hope you guys like the new icons and the new set goals for the page in aiming higher than before!
