Amazon Fire TV unvieled
We’ve long heard rumors about a gaming console from Amazon, and finally they uncovered it.
While it is not a big, full blown gaming console such as those from Microsoft and Sony, it is a huge contender against android consoles such as the OUYA. It looks like Fire TV will be using Amazons own android app market, as well as cloud gaming to bring the big games to your living room through Amazon Fire TV.
Amazons goal with this device isn’t games though, it is first and foremost a streaming device, and is made to fight with products such as Apple TV, Chromecast and Roku. The games are just a bonus, says Peter Larson, vice president of Amazon.
The games lineup looks promising too – Amazon has grabbed Kim Swift (she designed Portal), Clint Hocking (who designed Splinter Cell) and Eric Nylund (who wrote the Halo novels). Amazon also bought Double Helix Games who recently developed Killer Instinct for Xbox One. Telltales amazing games will also be released for Fire TV. Below is a Sneak Peek video from Amazon Game Studios.

The device sells for $99 and the controller for $39, presumably only in US. You can buy it now.
