Gamescom 2014: Sony press meeting
While Gamescom isn’t exactly known for the really big unveils (that’s E3’s job), there were a handful surprises and news – however, mostly in the indie-game department, and a few PC games coming to consoles. This article does not cover everything from Sony’s conference, but what we think are key elements.
The Vanishing of Ethan Carter looks to be an interesting crime solving experience, easily compared to Murdered: Soul Suspect.
Volume, made by the creator of Thomas was Alone (narration really underlines who the developer is), is looking to be an interesting stealth puzzling game where you avoid obstacles and enemies.
DayZ coming to PS4 as the first early access game, which was really surprised to hear – early access – on consoles? Where will it stop? Not something I support. ANyywho, I bet many people out there is full of joy by this announcement. No trailer, just a short talk by the developer.
Ninja Theory teases Hellblade, a new adventure, made independently – the developer is known for making DmC.
rime, very interesting title that can be compared to ICO in style, and with LIMBO in puzzling challenges – all this in 3D, lovely style.
A bunch of expansion sets for Destiny were announced, and so was a new mode: Crucible, which is a competitive mode featuring six players versus six players. Other player vs. player modes was also shown, here’s the new multiplayer trailer:
More Far Cry 4 news: As a Sony Playstation gamer you get 10 keys to a multiplayer free-roam co-op mode, where you can invite friends to join you – even if they do not own the game. And they added a trailer as well:
Hideo Kojima appears on stage, showing of new gameplay for Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain, mainly on how boxes can be used in the game to lure enemies into traps, distract them and in general progress in a mission with lots of enemies in the area.
Trailer for Until Dawn:
And then Sony wips the audience with announcing 2.0 software for the PS4 – which will contain Shareplay, that was announced at the consoles unveil; let your friend watch or take control of your game. The they go on, mentioning Project Morpheus and Playstation TV.

Tearaway Unfolded was announced, along with some gameplay demo, and it look fantastic! It will be a totally new game, no Vita porting here, which is just blatantly brilliant.
