Planetside 2 gets a Guinness World Record

On January 24th, a new Guinness World Record was set in the world of gaming. Planetside 2 managed to bring together 1,158 players in a battle on Hossin between the Terran Republic, Vanu Sovereignty and New Conglomerate. This was enough to win them the world record for the most players online in a single FPS battle, a record that had once belonged to the game’s predecessor Planetside. The record had previously belonged to Man vs. Machine since 2012, when they managed to amass 999 players.

Although the game is already available on PC, a closed beta will begin on Playstation 4 on January 20th. Will you be joining the game’s large online community?

I'm an avid gamer across many platforms, and I love to write about them. I'll try most games once, but I draw the line at fighters and racing sims.
