Weekend Play Issue #14

Hi everyone,

Jumping over the jinxed number (and taking out a week because of schoolwork and stress in general), Weekend Play is back, strong as ever.

I have been playing Gravity Rush for a couple days, and I do plan to finish it over the weekend. I have to attend a wedding, but there’s a rather long road trip (3 hours each way) and I do look very much forward to see how the story pans out – and if my mother isn’t talking too much once we are back at the motel, I’d most likely have a couple hours of playtime before sleep. With a couple unexpected plot twists, everything can happen. I’ll have the review ready for you guys to read once I’m allowed to publish it.

Now, since I can not talk more about Gravity Rush, I’m forced to talk about something else. I’ve hit 175 played hours of The Sims Social on Facebook, which is kind of mind boggling to say the least. I think it’s because of new things added each week, time limited quests that gives the players a reward to incorporate in the Sims home and it’s so easy just to click on a link while you’re on Facebook anyway that’s also reminding you the game via notifications. So far I’ve refrained from using any money on the game, but I just might next time there’s a sale, mostly to support the developer and publisher since I’ve played the game that much, getting some items ingame is just a bonus.

I’m a little surprised to run into a week without any minor titles on the table, but non the less, it’s here. With Diablo III being by far the biggest and most anticipated title jumping furiously on all the other games, mocking them, there’s still some gems in between the rubble. PC players gets Resident Evil: Raccoon City after a long wait, and they will also have to wait on Max Payne 3, while the console players get it this week. Sonic 4 episode 2 is now on the XBLA and PSN Store, and Tiger Woods 13 gets a couple add on’s, including the Emerald Dragon Fantasy Course which I wanted to include here as I’m thinking Sonic when I hear Emerald. There’s a rather big sale on Kinect titles on XBLA with 50% off on Haunt, Leedmees and Fruit Ninja Kinect.
