Weekend Play Issue #12

Hi everyone,

Decided to make the Weekend Play Issues even more simple – not to worry, I will still cover digital downloads as well as retail titles.

Since I’m still working on finishing my quest in Witcher 2, I’m taking a new approach on todays post: debate. Inspired by this reddit thread, I decided this subject could be fun to discuss. There’s a couple funny suggestions over in the reddit thread, so make sure to jump by that one as well.

If you could combine two games into one, what would they be?
Mine would be Mirror’s Edge combined with any newer Final Fantasy game, but deleting everything turnbased related. Just think about it; A semi-open worlded game with different weapons, both melee, guns and magic. Will include stealth missions, parkour missions, fist fighting and gun fights – of course all wrapped up in a nicely done package of a great universe and story. A strong female protagonist, something like Faith, but maybe with more sweetness that the characters from the Final Fantasy games have.

Catwoman is to symbolise the stealth part and the Fable 3 screenshot for the magic, while the last two shows a sweet looking character from a Final Fantasy game and the cool parkour from Mirror’s Edge.

Title Suggestion: Enigma

This weeks’ biggest title is by far TERA, a new MMO with a new dynamic targeting system, that easily could be compared to a FPS/TPS, and VITA gets another well known, but very anticipated title by VITA owners: Mortal Kombat. Both PSN and XBLA gets Awesomenauts, XBLA gets Fable Heroes which is the third game in the NEXT Promotion that ends next week and PSN gets Skullgirls and Max Payne. The Deal of the Week on XBLA is 50% off Back to Karkand DLC for Battlefield 3 and Plus Members on PSN gets Smash Cars, Awesomenauts, Silent Hill and Max Payne for free. XBLA gets Kinect Adventures and Puss in Boots on demand, and I recommend both games for Kinect owners. Finally we have Steam that gets a bunch of great older games such as Golden Axe III, Phantasy Star II, III and IV and Streets of Rage 3, and in the newer titles section is Sniper Elite V2 and Binary Domain – Shooter fans does get spoiled these days.

I do not have any preferences in games, and I do not oppose to what others are playing. But it baffles me every damn time someone says; "I do not like playing video games" . People be crazy sometimes I guess...
