Sony Online Entertainment sold, now named Daybreak Game Company
Sony Online Entertainment is a developer best known for their MMO titles like Everquest and Planetside. These games were usually developed exclusively for PCs although two of their latest titles, Planetside 2 and H1Z1, had both been confirmed as a console exclusive for Playstation 4 too. This could be set to change, because the developer no longer belongs to Sony.
On Monday, SOE was taken over by Columbus Nova and will now be developing games independently under their new name: Daybreak Game Company. Daybreak will be a multi-platform gaming company, meaning that their games could appear on “PlayStation and Xbox, mobile and more!” Does this mean that we will see Planetside 2 and H1Z1 on other consoles? Only time will tell.
Games coming to other brands quite confirmed by John Smedley, President of the company:
can't wait to make Xbox One games!
