Luigi gets a chance to stand on his own two feet
It’s finally time for Luigi to have some well-earned time in the spotlight, after 28 years of standing in Mario’s shadow; this will only be the 3rd title with Luigi as the main character. Hopefully Luigi will really shine this time. The new title from Nintendo “Luigi’s Mansion: 2” features Luigi, once again, on the haunt for ghosts!
Luigi has acquired the ability to sense stealthy beings, namely ghost – which comes in handy when you’re making your way through a haunted mansion. He doesn’t seem to be having much fun though, as even the smallest ghost make him jump like a little girl. His weapon of choice the “Poltergust 5000”, the upgrade for “Poltergust 3000”, however, makes up for whatever gut Luigi might be lacking. Early reviews reports this gun as some of the most fun you can imagine on the Nintendo 3DS; one button blows, the other one sucks –that sounds dirty, and it is!
As the sequel to Luigi’s mansion, the essence of the gameplay is still to move through the mansion, collecting coins and ghosts. With promises of more mansions, and many new ghosts being added, this 3DS game seems promising. The upgrade from the Poltergust 3000 to the Poltergust 5000 still makes no distinction between ghost, coins or even table cloth – it is all consuming. Consuming variable items with the Poltergust, will unveil hidden coins, for Luigi’s personal collection.
The game is available for preorder now, but so far no released date has been disclosed. Estimates of release date say, just in time for Christmas shopping – no real surprise there.

Go weegee! It’s sad to see that his career as second banana never took off, but hopefully Luigi’s Mansion 2 fixes that.

Nintendo should make a platformer that’s JUST about Luigi and Mario is completely absent from the game (or an unlockable). I wonder how it would affect sales?

They kinda tried that with Peach.
It didn’t do too well

Luigi should have to save Mario…make Mario attempt to save Princess, get in trouble, then Luigi saves the day in a big way! Maybe he can be a hero in disguise.

The Peach game weren’t marketed right at the time, and was a bit too girly. Girls who are girly doesn’t do well with gaming imo.
I like your idea SuperDave, it makes for an interesting way of thought.

Doesn’t Luigi already have a disguise? If not, he should get one.

What disguise?

HE needs one. Luigi is way goofy, he needs a super hero-like suit, with a superhero name. I know, he could be Plumberman! Or Luigiman! LOL

I could’ve sworn he had one in Mario & Luigi…

Which one? partners in time or Inside Bowser?
