Boosting – Saints Row

24 jan 2010 – Xzibitionist description totally re-written

The most efficient way to gain the multiplayer achievements in this game is a blended mix – first of all, it requires a lot of preperation and patience from everyone.

Number of players
You can be 4 or 6 players to do this, an even number, because you’ll be boosting in teams. It will take some time to get all achievements for all players, depending if one or more players in the boosting have been playing online already.

Preperation.
Find 3 other friends, make sure everybody really are in for the boosting, and do what people are agreeing to – perhaps the one that take the intiative should decide and be the headschef while boosting.
Everybody is friend requesting eachother on Live. If you played together before, prefere everyone as well, that is influating the matchmaking quite a lot.

Play in teams, avoid outsiders
Now, you gotta team up, so it’s 2 versus 2 players. One player from each team is creating a gang, and invite the other player to join the gang. When starting up, each gang meet up in the gang lobby. It doesn’t matter which member join the lobby and invite the other gangmember. Then the host of the lobby choose the gamemode(decided with the other gang through the party on Live). Coordinate at all times during matchmaking to make sure you’re playing against/with eachother.

Getting ranked. (Thug, Killa, Gangsta and Kingpin)
I highly recommend that working towards the ranked attached achievements before anything else, as death and losses are counting in the ranking points, and therefore can make it harder to reach the ranks.
I definetely experienced that the “Team Big Ass Chains” was the most effective one, maybe because my deaths and losses aren’t too much in that mode, but who knows.
Team out and plan who’s going for the achievements first. One player is getting kills, chains and points in multikills and streaks. Keep going untill Kingpin has popped, the other players on the winning team is just standing there, doing nothing.
Take turns getting ranked.

Dominator
This is probably gonna pop during the boosting for the Kingpin achievement. You shouldn’t worry too much of this.
You gotta win 10 ranked matches in a row for this one. It doesn’t matter which mode this is done in. Start the game, wait ten seconds (the system register you as been playing the game after ten seconds) then the loosing team is quitting the game, making the other team win the game. Do that ten times in a row, then one team (two players at a time) get this achievements – proceed with the same procedure to let the other team get the achievement.

Clocktower Camper
100 headshots with the sniperriffle. This should be easy to understand for everyone. I would recommend Blinged out ride as the mode to do this, because your team member can work on the Xzibitionist achievement in the meantime.
- For winning team;
One member finds the sniperrifle, then go for the loosing teams’ base. And then keep shooting the loosing players in aiming mode, aiming for the heads (of course). Remember to pick up the money dropped. Coordinate with your team member, don’t pick up money, if the bar is filled and the car ready for upgrade.

The loosing team almost does nothing – they may help running in front of the sniper shooter, so that player doesn’t have to go out of aiming mode. And perhaps helping out by grabbing their team car (or one of the cars that spawns near the base) and drive to the sniperrifle, pick it up and go back to the base, to getting shot by the opposing team member(remember to choose the sniperrifle, so you have it in your hands, or you won’t drop it when dying).

Xzibitionist
Get your team car to level 4 50 times, play Blinged out ride.
One winning team, one loosing team. One player on the team gets the upgrades. The winning team members are gonna drive or walk to the loosing teams base, and starts to kill them, to make them drop 100$ notes to gather for the winning team to upgrade the car. The loosing team are also driving out their team car out from the garage, make some damage on it – DON’T blow it up – and let the winning team blow up the car, to pick up a 200$ note that’s dropped from it. Repeat. The loosing team tries to avoid picking up notes and the winning team doesn’t pink up notes when there’s money enough for a car upgrade (the number of money gathered is turning green).

The player that gets the upgrades drives around in the team car, picks up the chain (if it seems to be time enough before the team has gathered enough money) and drive towards the chop shop when there’s nearly enough money, so the car can be upgraded the second there’s money enough. When reaching level 4, the driver goes to the base where the killings is going on, leaves the car there, take another car and goes to his homebase – if the other players are quick to blow it up, then the lvl 3 car is ready to be picked up at the winning teams homebase. Repeat until the timer runs out, decide if you want to deliver the car at the podium if the timer is below one minute.

If done right and quickly and without too much inteference from random players, the boosted player can get more than 10 upgrades from level 3 to level 4.

Chain Gang
Drop of 500 chains – Play Team Big Ass chains.
All players meet at the drop off point, shooting eachoter. The winning player should be avoided getting shot at. The winning player takes the chains, when having 10, drops them off, and just keeping do that until the winning player gets the achievement – and this is repeated for the other players. The chains gained in regularly Big Ass Chains, will count in as well. Fairly easy to get, and mostly, you will get this while working on the other achievements. It’s unknown if chains gained in Blinged Out Ride counts in as well.

Pimp Killer
Kill the pimp in “protect tha pimp” mode 50 times. Taking turns, or just play competetive, when having the achivement, let other players kill the pimp.
I’ve experienced that is much easier to avoid “outsiders” when playing 8 people together (gangs, 4v4), and with 8 players in the matchmaking, the game starts way faster than with 3v3(6 players in the matchmaking) because the system doesn’t look for more players.

Happy hunting!
